THE PROCESS
1
Research
Research the breed. Make sure a Labrador Retriever is a good fit for your family and your lifestyle.
2
Contact
Email us and tell us about your family, lifestyle, history with dogs, and what you are looking for in your next dog. *If you are a breeder wanting to add a dog to your program, please tell us about yourself, your program, and your goals. You must health test your dogs, and hold the very same standards as we have set. We are happy to help mentor in any way we can.
3
Retainer
After we agree that a New Life puppy is a great fit for you, a retainer of $200 is required to reserve your pup. The retainer is non-refundable, but transferable to any current or future litter. We can help you with various ways to make the retainer, but most do Venmo or PayPal. Your retainer will go towards the total price of your puppy. Once we receive the retainer, New Life will email you a retainer agreement. Retainers do not expire. If something comes up, please do not hesitate to reach out. We can place your retainer on hold until you are ready. New Life reserves the right to hold back first pick male or female for our own breeding program. All picks are first come, first serve. We go by the date in which you secured the retainer. Congratulations! We are very excited to welcome you to the New Life Labrador Family!
4
Prepare for Your Pup
Schedule your puppy’s second round of vaccines due at nine weeks of age. New Life handles the first round of vaccines at six weeks of age. We recommend when scheduling this appointment, to also schedule future vaccination appointments. Vet appointments are becoming difficult to make, and planning ahead sets you up for success. It’s time to start preparing your home for your new puppy. Now is a great time to order the Nuvet vitamins and see what we recommend for food etc. If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to reach out. Even as experienced pet owners ourselves, we’ve learned a lot through breeding. We want to set you and your new puppy up for success!
5
Pick Your Pup
We do puppy picks at eight weeks of age on pick up day. Puppy picks take place at our home (outside), over video chat, or videos/pictures if arrangements are made prior. Whatever works best for your family we can try to accommodate and will contact you to schedule a time. Puppy picks go in order of retainer received. For example if you have the third pick of five yellow females you would be the third one to pick your puppy out on pick up day. We do try to schedule everyone 30-45 minutes apart to give everyone plenty of time to pick out their new puppy.
6
Yay! Puppy pick up day
Yay! The day you have been waiting for! Every puppy receives a bath and nail trimming before pick up. We will go over the AKC registration along with New Life's puppy contract. A vaccination record, worming schedule along with a couple days supply of puppy food will be given to each family. Once final payment is completed, it’s time to take your puppy home! If you need transportation service, we will assist you with scheduling this ahead of time. We do understand sometimes you may not can get here on pick up day especially during vacation season etc. We do offer boarding after eight weeks at additional cost as long as these arrangements are made ahead of time.
